St Mary's College Ranks 2nd Highest Non-Selective State School in the North of England!
We are absolutely thrilled to share some incredible news! St Mary's College has been officially named the 2nd highest ranked non-selective, state school in the entire North of England by the prestigious Sunday Times Parent Power magazine for 2026.
St Mary’s College has a long-standing tradition of excellence, this is the third year running that the college has been placed on this highly sought-after national list, confirming our sustained commitment to academic excellence and fuelled by our school mission that “With God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).
Crucially, St Mary's College remains the only school of its type (non-selective, state-funded) in the Hull and East Riding area to make this prestigious ranking.
The rankings are based on outstanding GCSE and A Level outcomes achieved by our students. This achievement underscores why St Mary's College and its highly-regarded Sixth Form continue to be the top choice for local families dedicated to seeing their children flourish academically and personally.
This exceptional success is a testament to the commitment and hard work of our pupils, who consistently rise to meet personal and academic challenges and exceed expectations. Their dedication is supported by the partnership with their families and the tireless efforts of our school staff, who work over and above to ensure the very best individual outcomes for every child.
Headteacher, Mrs Stead is delighted with this sustained position, “We strive at St Mary’s College to ensure that nothing is left to chance, and no child is left behind at our school. This recognition acknowledges our success in believing that every young person, regardless of background, can achieve wonderful things”.
Our CEO, Rachel McEvoy said, “St Mary’s staff and students are an inspiration to us all. Their drive and determination ensure exceptional outcomes which in turn give the students the very best opportunities to succeed in life.”
We are immensely proud of everyone in the St Mary's College community for this remarkable achievement!
