We have an exciting new opportunity for enthusiastic, proactive individuals to join our bank of Exam Invigilators in our ambitious secondary school. It is a casual zero hours based role with hours which are offered throughout the year dependant on the volume of exams. We welcome applications from those who are seeking occasional work with periods of the year having a greater demand than others.

The team will invigilate the main external examinations held in May and June. Internal examinations are also conducted in November. Working hours are typically from 8.30am until 12.00 noon for AM sessions and 12.45pm until 3.30pm for PM sessions. Flexibility is crucial to the effective invigilation of exams.

Invigilators will be expected to take responsibility, within the Exam Team, for the running of an examination session. This role is essential to the smooth running and integrity of the examination process. The role involves supervising and managing examinations to ensure they are conducted honestly and efficiently. Exam invigilators maintain a controlled testing environment, verify identification of test-takers, distribute and collate all exam materials, monitor candidates during exams and address any unexpected interruptions or concerns. An exam invigilator is the supervisor who ensures fairness and equal opportunity for all students.

You must be reliable, confident and responsible and be able to deal calmly and appropriately with students to assist them in sitting their exams. The main duties of the role are as follows:

  • To be involved in the planning and delivery of prayer and liturgy
  • To work with groups of children of various ages

The appointed person will undertake training with St Mary's University for 20% of your working time alongside support. On-the-job training will be conducted on-line with St Mary’s, Twickenham.

You will undertake a course of academic instruction alongside your work - with an external end point assessment. Successful completion of this qualification will result in a Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education as a Children Young People and Families Practitioner. This is the equivalent of a first year of a Batchelor of Arts degree. You will also gain your Catholic Certificate in Religious studies.

Desired skills and personal qualities

Applicants must be a practising Catholic, with a good level of the following skills: communication, IT, organisation, administration. They must also have the ability for team working, being creative, showing initiative, being non-judgemental, having patience and have lots of enthusiasm.

This is a rewarding vocation and would be ideal for a person wanting a future career working in Catholic Education, directly supporting children and young people. Experience of working with children and families would be an advantage.

Minimum Required Qualifications
GCSE or equivalent Maths and English - Grade C/5 as a minimum

You will be a hand’s on individual with a “can do” approach. If you can support us in maintaining our excellent standards and add value to our site, staff and students, this is the role for you. You will be undertaking general maintenance and routine repairs, as well as compliance checks across the site.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • The ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • The ability to establish professional effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders and also young people

The Directors of St Cuthbert’s RC Academy Trust are seeking to appoint a motivated and experienced Office Manager to join the team at St Thomas More VC Academy (St Thomas More Road, Hull). This is a permanent role.

You will have the important role of promoting the school positively amongst colleagues and within the local and extended community. You will provide accurate and current information (written and verbal), as well as appropriate advice and support to staff, pupils, parents and other contacts. Under the leadership of the Head of School, you will undertake administrative, HR, appropriate data management, financial and organisational processes within the School. You will also line manage one Administrative Assistant, including training, mentoring and developing this member of staff.

Experience of managing administrative work in a busy office environment within an educational setting is essential. It is also essential that you have Administrative and ICT qualifications and experience preferred experience of using SIMS.
